- Spam Control

For most users, POP is adequate and appropriate. However, any user
who reads his/her mail from more than one computer should use IMAP.
For example, if you read your mailbox from your home computer and
your work computer, you will have much better results if you use
IMAP. IMAP ensures that any changes you make to your mailbox from
any computer are reflected on the mail server. When you go to
another computer to read your mail, it syncronizes with the server
so that change made to your mailbox on the other computer are made
on the current computer. If you use POP and multiple computer to
read your mail, you are likely to see the same messages multiple
times. The main difference between POP and IMAP is that with POP,
the messages in your Inbox are eventually deleted from the mail
server. With IMAP, the messages in your Inbox are never deleted
on the mail server until you delete them from your Inbox or move
them from your Inbox to a mail folder on your computer. So if you
use IMAP you should move messages from their IMAP Inbox to local
folders to save them, to avoid filling your Inbox on the server.
If your Inbox fills up, you will not be able to receive new mail.
Sending mail through the Cybox mail server is restricted. If you
are sending mail from a host in the NeTrack network (for example,
one connected to the Internet with NeTrack DSL services), no special
procedure is required. If you are sending mail from anywhere else
(for example, from your laptop dialed into a different ISP), you
must first check mail before you will be able to send mail. Checking
your mail causes your username and password to be sent with your
IP address. This will allow mail to be sent from that IP address
within the next 15 minutes. If you receive a "relaying denied"
error trying to send your mail, please check your mail and then
try sending again. If you are still unable to send mail, it is
likely that the ISP to which you are connected is blocking outgoing
mail to any server except theirs. Please ensure you have the SMTP
port set to 587.
