Using Microsoft FontPage to Manage a Personal Web Site

To use FrontPage, it needs to be enabled on the Cybox server. If you didn't request FrontPage when you ordered your web service, contact NeTrack to enable FrontPage at 303.938.0188 or support@netrack.net.

Using FrontPage, you can either manage the web pages directly on the Cybox server, or manage it on your local system and then publish changes to the Cybox server.

Some scripts are available for use by all cybox hosted web sites. Click here for more information on what is available and how to use them.

Managing your web pages directly on the Cybox server

  1. Launch the FrontPage application.
  2. From the File menu, select Open Web.
  3. In the panel that appears, down at the bottom, enter the web address of your personal web. It should be of the format:
         http://mydomain.com/~username
    
    Where "mydomain.com" is the domain name of your site or cybox.com if you don't have your own domain name. Username is your username, the same one you use to check email.
  4. Click the Open button.
  5. You will be prompted to login to your web site. Enter the same username and password you use to check your e-mail.
  6. Your web site should open. If you receive an error, contact NeTrack at 303.938.0188 or support@netrack.net.

Any changes you make to pages will be immediately reflected on your personal web pages. The next time you launch FrontPage, and Open Web, your web site should be listed. Select it and click the Open button.

Managing your web site on your local system

  1. Launch the FrontPage application.
  2. From the File menu, select Open Web.
  3. In the panel that appears, click the new folder icon at the top of the Open Web panel. In the New Folder panel, type the file path on your disk where you would like to creat the new web folder. Click the OK button in the New Folder panel. Click the Open button on the Open Web panel.
  4. Use FrontPage to create pages in the new web site just opened. Be sure you name the welcome page as "index.html".
  5. When you are ready to upload the pages to the web site, from the File menu select Publish Web.
  6. In the Publish Web panel that appears, enter the web address of your site's web. It should be of the format:
         http://mydomain.com/
    
    Where "mydomain.com" is the domain name of your site or cybox.com if you don't have your own domain name. Username is your username, the same one you use to check email.
  7. You will be prompted to login to your web site. Enter the same username and password you use to check your e-mail.
  8. Your web site should publish successfully. If you receive an error, contact NeTrack at 303.938.0188 or support at netrack.net.
