Arescom NDS1000 Router Configuration Instructions

Configuration instructions for use with NeTrack residential and business DSL services. NeTrack needs to know if you have an Arescom router. Please notify NeTrack if you are using an Arescom modem that you did not purchase from NeTrack.

1) Follow the instructions in the Arescom manual to establish the initial connection to the Arescom NDS1000 configuration interface using your web browser. NeTrack recommends that you use the network interface instead of the USB interface for this purpose.

2) On the main SETUP screen enter:

"netrack-gw" as the router name
your netrack account number as the password
The DNS servers as shown in the image below

3) Click the Save button. Then you will need to reconnect your browser to the Arescom router.  You will be prompted for a login and password.  Use the router name and password from step 2.

4) Click on the PVCs tab. In PVC1, set the encapsulation to "PPPoA LLC" and enter VPI 0 and VCI 32. Leave the username and password blank. (If your DSL service has been active with a Qwest reseller ISP since before April 2001, you will instead enter VPI 1 and VCI 1.) Then click the Submit button.

5) Click on the PVCs tab again and then the Advanced Settings button. Enter the IP address assigned to you by NeTrack as the NAT IP address and the NAT Pool IP address. The IP address shown in the picture below is only an example. Be sure to enter the IP address provided to you. Then click the Submit button.

5) Click on the PVCs tab again and then the More Advanced Settings button. Enter the IP address assigned to you by NeTrack as the WAN IP address and set the WAN Subnet Mask to 255.255.255.255. The IP address shown in the picture below is only an example. Be sure to enter the IP address provided to you. Then click the Submit button.

The configuration of your Arescom NDS1000 router is complete. All the computers on your local area network should be have their network properties configured to "obtain IP address dynamically."  No other configuration is necessary.

If you wish to view the status of the connections on the Arescom NDS1000 router, click on the Status tab. The Arescom takes a few seconds to establish a WAN link. So look for a solid green WAN link light before checking the status. Verify the IP Address show in the PPP section of the status page is the IP address you entered above.

Contact NeTrack at 303.938.0188 if you have any difficulties.
