This document contains configuration instructions for use with
NeTrack client DSL services.
Before you begin, have the IP address assigned to you by Netrack
ready to enter in the Actiontec 1520/1524 configuration.
If you do not already have an Ethernet network interface card
in your computer, install one first. USB is not recommended.
1) Follow the instructions that came with your Actiontec 1520/1524.
2) Use the following information as your ISP Worksheet:
ISP Protocol: PPPoA
My ISP does not require any User ID and Password
IP type: Static IP
Use the Single IP address or Block assigned to you
Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: (blank - dynamic)
DNS: (blank - dynamic)
Once your configuration is completed, the Actiontec 1520/1524 will save
the configuration settings you entered and reboot.
3) Open a web browser such as Internet Explorer. Use the
File Open menu to open http://192.168.0.1/ . Click on the Status
menu option.
Your configuration was successful and you are now connected to
the Internet if the status page shows the WAN Connection status as
"Connected."
- My web browser can't open the web page http://192.168.0.1.
- Check your computer's network configuration and make sure that
it is set to "obtain an IP address automatically." Then reboot
your computer and try again.
- I can open the web page, but the status shows "disconnected." The
"Internet" light on the modem is flashing.
- Check that the modem is correctly connected to your DSL telephone
line outlet. If the "Internet" light on the modem won't stop flashing and
stay on steady, please call Qwest for repair, 888-234-9375.
- The WAN status shows "disconnected" but the "Internet" light on
the modem is on steady.
- Double-check your configuration and call Netrack, 303.938.0188.
Contact Netrack if you
have any difficulties or questions in configuring your Actiontec
1520/1524 or establishing your connection to the Internet.
If you want to use the wireless hub feature of your Actiontec 1520/1524,
you have to first
purchase an Actiontec brand wireless PC card
and install it in your Actiontec 1520/1524.
Then you enable the wireless features and configure it for your
environment as follows.
1) Open a web browser such as Internet Explorer. Use the
File Open menu to open http://192.168.0.1/ .
2) Select the Actiontec menus Setup then Advanced Setup. Then click
Begin Advanced Setup. Select Wireless from the left setup option list.
3) Click the button to turn on the wireless features. Then click Next.
4) In the subsequent screens, configure the Actiontec 1520/1524 wireless
settings to match your environment. We highly recommend that you enable
and configure WEP. Without WEP, all your network activity is publicly
accessible and your wireless network can be used to access the Internet
by those whom you did not authorize.
5) Click Save and Restart at the bottom of the left setup option list.
When the DSL and Internet lights stop flashing and stay on steady green,
your modem is ready for use again.
CAUTION: NAT is required to be enabled unless you have been
assigned a block of static IP addresses from Netrack. If you have
been assigned a block of static IP addresses and you disable NAT,
your modem's web-based configuration interface is accessible by
anyone. So please configure an admin username and password to
protect your modem when you turn off NAT.
